As someone deeply committed to inclusive and globally relevant criminological education, I found this article both timely and thought-provoking. It highlights the ongoing challenge of Western dominance in criminological research and the urgent need for more diverse voices and perspectives across the field.


In both teaching and research, I believe broadening the lens of criminology is essential to understanding crime in its full social, cultural, and geopolitical complexity. As we prepare the next generation of criminologists, it’s vital that we ask: whose voices are missing, and how can we bring them in?
