LEINA YADEV LLM

Award-winning Solicitor and International Mediator Leina heads Chambers, established 2001, with a national and international client base. She is a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property and Commercial Law, and one of the highest ranking Senior Mediators on the National Mediator Database. PAUL BRAZIER, CEO

Accredited International Mediator, Lecturer, Author, Faculty Leader
Paul's 20 years in the ceramic industry have provided him with the valuable experience of negotiating at all levels of management, from factory floor to boardroom. The last 17 years have found him developing a successful construction and property letting business. He has worked closely with local government, housing associations, social support groups and charities. He is a natural conciliator, whose mediation style is both personable and engaging. Paul is an experienced specialist in employment, workplace, construction, commercial and residential property, including landlord and tenant disputes. DR. EUAN DAVIDSON MA, PhD, LLB

Solicitor, Family Mediation Council Accredited International Mediator, Member of the Family Mediators Association, Lecturer, Faculty
Euan spent many years living and working in East Africa as a lecturer, researcher and Executive Officer at a University, during which time he became fluent in Swahili, before returning to the UK to undertake legal training, to become a qualified Solicitor and to train as a Family Mediator.
He is recognised by the Family Mediation Council as a fully competent all issues Family Mediator, which allows him to undertake both publicly-funded and privately-funded mediation.

 

Euan specialises in higher value financial cases, with many of these cases also involving children whose needs have to be carefully considered. Whilst most of this mediation work is undertaken as a sole Mediator, he actively promotes the use of co-mediation, especially for complex and/or high conflict cases. Euan's decision in 2010 to focus exclusively on mediation demonstrates his commitment to resolving disputes in as amicable and effective way as possible rather than relying on more adversarial routes, and he uses his rich and varied background to ensure that he can understand and empathise with a wide range of different clients and family law issues whilst remaining focused on ensuring that lasting and effective solutions are achieved whenever possible
 

 

 

 

 

BRIAN FARKAS

Attorney, International Mediator, International Arbitrator, Author, Faculty
Brian focuses his practice on commercial litigation, arbitration and mediation, as well as intellectual property issues. 
His writing on arbitration and mediation has appeared in leading industry publications, including Alternatives, Dispute Resolution Journal, and the North-eastern Law Journal. He was Editor-in-Chief of the Cardozo Journal of Conflict Resolution and won the Andrew S. Zucker Award for Academic Excellence. He served as a Judicial Intern to Hon. Judy N. McMahon of the New York State Supreme Court, and a legal intern at Condé Nast.


Brian is a member of the American Bar Association, New York City Bar Association and the New York County Lawyers' Association. He serves as a volunteer Mediator in both the Manhattan Civil Court and Small Claims Court through the New York Peace Institute.
Brian is an active volunteer for his undergraduate alma mater, Vassar College, serving on the Board of Directors of the Vassar Club of New York and on the college's Annual Fund Advisory Council. He also sits on Cardozo's Young Alumni Board of Directors.


 
 

 

 

 

JOSEPH GRYNBAUM, P.E.

International Mediator, Professional Engineer, Author, Faculty
 Joseph provides a broad range of dispute resolution services in addition to engineering technical consulting services for owners, developers, lenders and contractors. He is a licensed mechanical engineer and trained mediator with over 35 years of international experience in engineering, project management, project development and fast-track construction in the electric generating industry.
His articles and perspectives on effective dispute prevention and resolution have been published extensively in numerous publications including ENR Magazine, Power Engineering Magazine and ADR and power industry online forums.


By combining mediation skills and technical and management experience with an in-depth knowledge of the project execution process, he has mediated the successful settlement of complex construction and engineering disputes between contracted parties. He has assisted many international clients from countries including U.S.A. Honduras, Philippines, South Africa, Jamaica, Russia, Guatemala and Pakistan.

GERT NILSSON

Solicitor & Barrister, CEDR Accredited International Mediator, Faculty
Gert has been professionally involved in dispute resolution for over 30 years. Formally a police officer and court clerk, in 1991 Gert duel-qualified as a Solicitor and Barrister, with a focus on corporate issues. 
He is a CEDR Accredited International Mediator and trained for peace processes by the Folke Bernadotte Academy. Gert's passion is to help disputing parties resolve their conflicts and disputes by consensus.

 

 

 

 


 HAMMAD ROHILA BA

Attorney, International Mediator, University Lecturer, Faculty
Hammad graduated from Northumbria University, and  is an Attorney working with an established international law firm with over five decades experience in corporate law.
He has conducted a vast range of mediations including but not limited to family, professional negligence, commercial, civil, and intellectual property disputes. He enjoys an excellent reputation of being an earnest, enterprising and diligent professional.


His previous experience and education in business management and sales makes him an ideal mediator and enables him to achieve mutually beneficial resolutions for disputing parties. He is a visiting University Lecturer

 


 

 

 

 

 

DR. JOHN SHAPTER LDS RCS Edin

Accredited Mediator, Expert Witness, Lecturer, Faculty
John is a Mediator with former experience in dental practice, clinical governance and commercial business, and is an Expert Witness in Dental/Medical Negligence. His experience has instilled a commitment to the highest level of confidentiality and personal values. Managing his business has brought experience of negotiating with institutes and individuals, sometimes in difficult circumstances.


His training roles include lecturing in community mediation at Derby University, leading workshops in Mediation for Solicitors, and speaking about mediation on radio. Recently he led work with senior police officers on the role of mediation with young people. Civil Mediation Council registered.


 
 

 

 

 

 

ADITYA SHIVKUMAR LLB

Solicitor & Barrister, Accredited International Mediator, Lecturer, Faculty
Upon completion of his legal studies in the United Kingdom, and Accredited Mediator training with Clerksroom, Aditya returned to Chennai to pursue a career in Litigation. He is an Advocate practising in the High Court of Madras.


Aditya has worked with some of the best-known minds in Civil Law in India. He has assisted Shri P S Raman, former Advocate General with several high profile cases, including disputes concerning the Board of Control for Cricket in India. Aditya has also been fortunate enough to have worked with S Parthasarathy, Senior Advocate.


He regularly appears for clients in complex Civil Disputes before the High Court, and routinely advises clients on a varied range of issues involving Banking and Commercial Laws, Sports Law and Constitutional Law. He specialises in Writ work coupled with Sports Law.


Aditya co-authored the article 'Roll of a Dice-Sets the ball in Motion' which calls for legalising of betting in sport. The Article received wide acclaim and has been published in the Country's apex law journal: Supreme Court Cases.

 

 

 

 



THOMAS P. VALENTI

Attorney, International Mediator, International Arbitrator, Facilitator (ACIArb), Faculty
Thomas P. Valenti a lawyer, certified mediator, arbitrator, and facilitator (ACIArb). His services include mediation, arbitration, and facilitation relative to business disputes, community disputes and community dialogue facilitation, family/interpersonal conflict, personal injury disputes, and matters of employment.

 

Thomas is a former Board Member of Mediators Beyond Borders International (MBBI). He led the Hurricane Katrina Project in New Orleans, LA and Biloxi, MS to dialogue with area NGO's to improve their skills and to develop community mediation programs.


Thomas is also involved with the Middle East Peace Initiative working with an Israeli Jewish and Palestinian peace village, Neve Shalom Wahat Al Salam (NSWAS) and its Pluralistic Spirituality Centre Project to develop an Israeli-Arab and Jewish co-mediation approach and service to mediate community dialogue. He is also an International Mediation Institute's-Mentor to Youth.

 

 

 


 
PROFESSOR MICHAEL VLOEBERGHS MD, PhD

Consultant Paediatric Neurosurgeon, Accredited International Mediator, Expert Witness, University Professor, Faculty
Michael is a full time practicing Paediatric Neurosurgeon and a visiting Professor at Nottingham Trent University. He has a long standing Expert Witness practice in clinical negligence, personal injury and family law. Over time, Michael gained a keen interest in mediation as a generic skill but in particular regarding the changing face of expert work in clinical negligence.

 

His clinical negligence work largely regards the Neurological consequences of birth injury because of his sub-specialist practice in the surgical treatment movement disorders in cerebral palsy and other childhood Neurological disorders. Michael's professional skills give him an advantage when dealing with personalities and difficult situations. He is fluent in five languages and conducts mediations both nationally and worldwide. HAMISH WILLS BA

Teacher, Facilitator, Accredited Mediator, Faculty
With 27 years experience teaching from reception to sixth form in many different types of educational institutions, including hospital and special schools, Hamish has a thorough understanding of how educational establishments function, their priorities, language and thinking. Combining this with his 9 years experience as a neighbourhood mediator, he is extremely well grounded in helping clients establish common interests and priorities and has an excellent success rate in enabling parties to negotiate successful agreements.


He has worked as a facilitator and taught the skills, managed local business development projects and started a host of community initiatives. After 4 years working as a company manager, Hamish trained as a commercial Mediator and with his experience in education, commerce and community development, is able to benefit a very broad range of clients with his skills. STELIOS ASPROFTAS

Solicitor, Barrister, International Accredited Mediator
Stelios Asproftas was born in Nicosia. He obtained his law degree from the Aristotelian University of Thessaloniki. He was admitted to the Cyprus Bar Association in 1995, and is an Accredited International Mediator. He completed his mediation training with the Thessaloniki Mediators Training Institute and the ADRg UK.


Memberships include: Nicosia Bar Association, Pancyprian Bar Association, Tribunal Committee of the Cyprus Handball Federation 2002-2005 , Tribunal Committee of the Cyprus Basket Federation 2003-2006, and Cyprus Association for the European Law
Stelios has his own legal and mediation practice, and is Founder of an international legal network of 16 boutique and middle- sized law firms operating within 20 cities worldwide.

 

He is fluent in Greek and English, and has a particular interest in company law, intellectual property and mediation. He has several mottoes in life: One of the most important, to him, that his late grandfather taught him, is to implement daily practice of: Faith, Courage, Patience, and Perseverance.

 

 

 

 


 
LEE BRODERS

Accredited Mediator
Lee is an accredited mediator practicing in civil, commercial, workplace, community and family mediation. He has been associated with conflict resolution for many years within business having worked in HM Forces, IT, Construction and the Equine industries where he has developed a calming and proactive approach to problem resolution. Lee's inter personal skills and personality equips him to interact with all parties involved, putting them at ease and instilling a positive energy into the mediation. Lee is a keen motorcyclist and holds a private pilots license. He is also studying Law at Open University. He is a member of a number of mediation panels, and Civil Mediation Council registered.

 

 

 

 

 


PETER MAUGHAN B.A.(Hons Law)

Solicitor, Accredited International Mediator
Peter has been a Solicitor since 1978. He has very broad experience in all aspects of legal practice but particularly in Civil Litigation and Personal Injury and Medical Negligence Claims. He has been a member of the Law Society Personal Injury Panel and the AvMA (Action against Medical Accidents) panel. 
Peter became accredited as a Mediator in 1996, and has continued his training since then within the UK and at the Malta Mediation Centre in 2012 for both domestic and international disputes. He has a very broad range of experience in Mediations of all types but in particular has undertaken a number of Community Mediations as well as Commercial Mediations. He has also taught and demonstrated Mediations at Universities within the UK and in Malta, and is a visiting Lecturer in Mediation and an external Mediation Examiner, and for Managers from the NHS amongst others. Peter is an elected Local Authority Councillor, a Rotarian and a School Governor. He was also co-winner of the Solicitor's Journal awards.


 

 

 

 

 

 

AMAR MEHTA

As a qualified and experienced solicitor, former barrister and present business owner, Amar Mehta brings a broad range of relevant skills and knowledge to the mediation table. With excellent commercial awareness, Amar is particularly capable in the face of complex, paper-heavy cases, quickly identifying and tackling the issues that matter. ANDREW MAWDSLEY

Solicitor, Accredited Mediator, Associate Member
Andrew is a Solicitor and Accredited Mediator. He has a wealth of experience in civil and commercial litigation, together with a reputation for swiftly identifying issues and speaking plainly with parties whilst putting them at ease. Over the years Andrew has resolved numerous disputes by way of litigation and negotiation. He has participated in mediations where the parties have held polarised views and still achieved settlement. Andrew knows how entrenched parties can become. As mediator, his aim is to get the parties communicating with one another, and understanding and resolving the issues between them.


 
 

 

 

 

 

DAVID BURROWS

Solicitor Advocate, Lecturer, Author, Faculty
David is a solicitor advocate (higher courts, civil) who specialises in family law. He has experience as advocate at all levels of court: from House of Lords (Supreme Court) to magistrates and tribunals. He is a founder contributor to Family Court Practice (Jordans, the 'Red Book'), an early member of SFLA (now Resolution). He chaired its National Committee in 2003.


From 1975 (a year after publication of the Finer Report on single parent families) he was closely involved in the setting up of the first mediation ('conciliation') service in Bristol; and he has been involved with mediation projects and law relating to it ever since. In late 2013 he privately published for mediators an interactive DR Law Guide.


His most recent book is Practice of Family Law: evidence and procedure (Jordans, November 2012). He is now working on Privilege and confidentiality (Law Society). He writes extensively in eg Family Law and New Law Journal.


  
 

 

 

 

 

JACK BRAZIER BSC

International Mediator, University Lecturer, Faculty
Jack graduated from Bristol University with a BSc in forensic Computing. He has worked in Hong Kong, Singapore and Thailand within education, mediation and with Centerprise International for the Ministry of Defence dealing with confidential and sensitive contracts.

 

Jack is a mediator, facilitator and University Lecturer. He teaches mediation skills internationally within International Universities and educational establishments in the Far East. He has hosted development of community initiatives. His experience makes him an ideal mediator. Jack has a fresh, caring, down to earth approach, and is well thought of professionally.


 
 

 

 

 

 

JUDGE AHMED THARWAT LLM

International Arbitrator, Chief Prosecutor, Faculty
Ahmed is an International Arbitrator and Judge, with experience of mediation.  He has been Deputy of the Egyptian General Prosecutor, a Judge at primary courts, and Chief Prosecutor at the Court of Cassation. He is a lecturer of international business law, risk insurance and human rights at the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport.

 

Ahmed is a member of several professional bodies, including the Arab Society of Commercial and Maritime Law. He is a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in International Commercial Arbitration, and is preparing PhD in International Commercial Arbitration and Mediation.


 
 

 

 

 

 

DAVID NOGANOSH

International Mediator, Negotiator, Trainer, Lecturer
David Noganosh is an International Mediator, Negotiator and Trainer from the Anishinabek Nation, Wolfclan. His mediation practice provides Mediation, Mediation Training, Workplace Dispute Resolution and Facilitation to First Nation communities, Corporations, as well as the Private and Non Profit Sectors Worldwide. 
He joined St. Stephen's Conflict Resolution & Training in 2008 where he is an Associate Mediator and Trainer. St. Stephens Community House utilizes a Transformative Mediation model that stresses interest-based problem solving. David has also trained extensively with Stitt Feld Handy Group, which delivers training in Principled Negotiation, Mediation, Arbitration, Alternative Dispute Resolution and communication skills, using the latest adult education techniques. He is a member of the ADR Institute of Ontario and is pursuing his Chartered Mediator (C.Med) designation. David was recently selected Commissioner with the inaugural Anishinabek Nation Tribunal and Commission (ANTC). He brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to parties in dispute.

 

 

 

 

 


 
RANDY EDWARDS

International Mediator, International Arbitrator
A broad background in Industrial Engineering, Cost Accounting, Sales, Marketing, Sales Management, Printing Company owner, Manufacturers Representative Company owner, and Employment Agency co-owner has allowed Randy to develop a warm and engaging style to help people deal with all types of problems and disagreements.
A non-lawyer mediator since 2007 for the Lubbock County Office of Dispute Resolution, and an Arbitrator for the Better Business Bureau since 2010 and the National Centre for Dispute Settlement since 2012.
